Dr. Norman Keevil
Dr. Norman Keevil is an entrepreneur, scientist and innovator. He is a company builder who took Teck Cominco from being a collection of a few small gold mines and oil wells into the organization we see today.
Dr. Keevil obtained his bachelor degree in applied geology from the University of Toronto in 1959, and his PhD from the University of California (Berkeley) in 1964. He also received an honorary doctorate of laws from the University of British Columbia in 1993 and he continues to be a strong supporter of research at UBC.
In 2004, Dr. Keevil was inducted into the prestigious Canadian Mining Hall of Fame, joining his father, Dr. Norman B. Keevil Sr., who was inducted in 1990.
The 2005 BC Export Awards salutes Dr. Norman Keevil for his business acumen, his vision and his leadership.

Gerard D'Avino
Gerard D'Avino is a recent graduate of Royal Roads University's, Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management program, having also graduated from Camosun College in Business Administration (Marketing Option) in 1995.
His entrepreneurial talents include setting up a number of IT companies that created an Internet affiliate program and ECommerce solutions. His entrepreneurial project at Royal Roads included organizing the "Royal Roads Walk for Relief" with the raised money being donated to the Red Cross Tsunami Fund.
He is a talented, multi-lingual individual with a commitment to life long learning and intends to apply his skills and knowledge working in the Information Technology and Web Marketing Industry.
