Winner: Pioneer Log Homes of British Columbia
Pioneer Log Homes of Williams Lake is the largest handcrafted log home company in the world. Since 1983, they have used BC cedar logs for all homes, and their renowned craftsmanship can be seen on four continents; Europe, Australia, Asia and North America. Their current project is being hailed as the world's largest log cabin - located on a 7,000 acre ranch near Steamboat Springs, Colorado. It is being engineered to last 400 years.
Finalist: Drop Designs
Drop Designs specializes in the innovative design and manufacturing of power transmission products. Their solutions are used in the pulp and paper, steel, sawmill, oil and gas, mining and asphalt industries. In 2009, Drop Designs won the "Manufacturing Innovator of the Year Award" for all of Northern British Columbia through the Kootenay Association for Science and Technology.
Finalist: Noratek Solutions Inc
Established in 2000, Noratek Solutions is one of the largest high-tech companies in Northern BC. They have two distinct business services, a professional IT department and a mobile data collection service which uses Smart Phones to gather field date onsite. In 2006, Noratek won both a Technology Collaborator of the Year and a Technology Innovator of the Year Award.
