Message from the Chair
2011 was a very exciting year for the BC Export Awards! We had the largest number of nominations to date - more than 500 - and witnessed a sold out gala, yet again. We also had the privilege of welcoming Premier Christy Clark to the gala and benefited from her keynote speech about the growth and importance of BC's export economy and the people who make it happen. Richard T. Lee, MLA and Parliamentary Secretary for the Asia Pacific to the Minister of Jobs Tourism and Innovation and Colin Hansen, MLA Vancouver-Quilchena also attended the gala luncheon.
Our Finalists and Winners for 2011 continued to demonstrate their unwavering commitment to the growth of the province's economy and have further strengthened our position in the global marketplace. The diversity of industries represented and their location in BC in 2011 continue to make our export sector extraordinary.
We look forward to 2012, the 30th anniversary of the BC Export Awards. Please start thinking about all the BC-based export companies you know to be outstanding in their industries and deserving of a nomination as the process will begin in the Spring of 2012.
